TalkFit Privacy Policy

TalkFit ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Jackson Talley as a sole proprietor. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the TalkFit mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account and use TalkFit:

Account information: Email address and password (stored securely via Supabase authentication)
Fitness profile: Sex/gender, age, height, weight, strength maxes (bench, squat, deadlift), exercise style preferences, injuries, and available equipment — provided voluntarily during onboarding
Workout data: Exercise names, sets, reps, weights, and workout notes you log in the app
Journal entries: Morning and evening journal text you write or dictate in the app
Voice audio: When you use voice features (Pro), audio is recorded on your device and sent to Google's Gemini API for transcription and processing. We do not store raw audio recordings on our servers.
Coaching preferences: Free-form context you add via the "Tell Your Coach" feature, stored as text in your profile
Usage data: Workout session counts and check-in history
Exercise feedback: When you rate individual exercises using the thumbs up/down feature, we store your feedback signal — including whether an exercise caused pain, felt ineffective, or is simply disliked — to personalize future workout recommendations. This data is tied to your account and never shared.
App feedback: If you submit a rating or review through the in-app feedback prompt, we collect your star rating, optional written message, app version, and workout count at time of submission. This is used solely to improve the app.

1a. Email Verification

When you create an account, we require email address verification. You will receive a one-time confirmation email sent via Supabase (our authentication provider). We do not send marketing emails. You can delete your account at any time to remove all associated data.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and personalize the TalkFit experience, including AI-generated workout suggestions and coaching feedback
To process and display your workout history and journal entries
To send scheduled push notifications (morning and evening journal reminders) — you can disable these in your device settings at any time
To manage your subscription through RevenueCat
To improve the app based on aggregate, non-identifiable usage patterns

3. Third-Party Services

TalkFit uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase — database and authentication. Your account data and app content are stored on Supabase servers. Supabase Privacy Policy
Google Gemini API — voice transcription and AI workout parsing. Audio you record is sent to Google's servers for processing. Google Privacy Policy

4. Microphone Access

TalkFit requests access to your device microphone solely to enable voice input for workout logging, journal entries, and coaching updates (Pro features). Microphone access is only active while you are actively recording. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your device settings, which will disable voice features but not affect any other functionality.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. Account deletion removes your profile, workout history, journal entries, and all personal data from our systems.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the service providers listed in Section 3 as necessary to operate the app.

7. Children's Privacy

TalkFit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and Supabase's row-level security to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and data
Withdraw consent for microphone use via device settings
Opt out of push notifications via device settings

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of TalkFit after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
